Big Ask Education Feedback

Big Ask Feedback Campaign – The Result (Part 1)

On 28 May, Clifford and Rosie presented the findings of the Big Ask Feedback campaign to the group that is overseeing the University review of assessment and feedback.

As a result of the report and other forms of lobbying throughout the year, the University has agreed to:

  • Look into abolishing the resit fee (£75) – this would save students on average £225,000 per year
  • Work with Schools to ensure a 15 day turnaround time for feedback
  • Take steps to enhance the student support available around assessment periods, particularly during re-sits
  • Work with Schools, Student Reps and the Students' Union to develop clear and effective marking schemes
  • Produce guidance for staff on how to deliver high quality, constructive feedback for students

This is a really good start and could not have been done without student feedback. The Exec Team will continue working this year and next to make sure all these things are followed through.
