Join the Archaeology Society for fun and interesting experiences, a great group of friends, a good laugh and a drink! As well as the usual society drinking socials, we offer a wide range of unique opportunities both within the university and in the local area.
Events and other perks include:
> Research seminars, led by academics on a range of relevant archaeological topics
> Artefact handling sessions, where you will get to handle and learn about real archaeological artefacts
> Trips to museums, monuments, conferences and other places of archaeological significance, with a good social before/during/afterwards
> Competitions and various ways to participate directly in the way the society is run
> Discounted drinks with your ArchSoc card, including 10% off at the Deaf Institute and Salutation and many more to come
> Other cool experimental archaeology stuff - ever wanted to try your hand at flint knapping or pottery? Now's your best chance...
> Volunteering opportunities, advertised by us whenever we see them - any experience in the field that's available in the area, you'll be the first to know.
> Loads of fun socials that don't just involve getting really drunk, like laserquest and trench olympics!
> But we get drunk lots too with our discount cards.
Membership is just £3 for the whole year, and with that you get an ArchSoc card (coming soon... you'll receive an email when they are available to collect). You'll get put on our mailing list to receive news about all the events we are doing and every event will be either free or discounted with your card.
