The Advice Service has expertise in a wide range of financial issues that affect students. Our Advisors can help with issues with Student Finance; assisting you with appeals and complaints with the Student Loans Company and can provide information on funding sources for postgraduate study and how to explore funding from charities and trusts.
If you need access to additional funding, our Advisors can also advise you regarding financial support from the Students' Union and Univeristy in terms of emergency loans and hardship grants. Some students can claim back medical costs from the NHS using forms available from the Advice Service, and a few students are entitled to benefits which our Advisors can offer advise on your eligibility and how to apply.
If you encounter any difficulties with your finances during your time at the University of Manchester, the Advice Service can support you. Our experienced Advisors are committed to providing impartial, confidential advice whenever necessary - we will never inform the University of your financial situation without your explicit permission. There is more information on specific topics on the other pages in this section or you can get in touch with our Advisors.
