The aim of the Manchester University Buddhist Society is to provide an opportunity for those who wish to learn about Buddhism, however much or however little they already know. The Society is not confined to any particular school, and is interested in theoretical and practical aspects of Buddhism. Whatever the interest everyone is very welcome!
Throughout the academic year we offer the following activities:
Weekly mediation sessions. Venue and times vary depending on the season so please make sure to join our Facebook group here or send us an email to email@example.com to add you to our mailing list.
Throughout this year we will also be inviting external speakers to come to the University to give talks on Buddhism and meditation, and we will be arranging trips to different Buddhist centres, so be sure to keep your eye on our Facebook page!
Trips to Buddhist centres, such as the Manchester Buddhist Centre in Northern Quarter, Manchester centre for Buddhist Meditation in Chorlton, Kwan Um Zen centre in the Peak District and more.
We are involved in organising the Greater Manchester Buddhist Convention (GMBC), which will be held on Sunday 29th of September at the Manchester Buddhist Centre in Northern Quarter.
