The Society is formed by Italians studying at the Manchester University, Erasmus students coming from Italian Universities, English and international students belonging to the Italian Language Department and all those people within the University interested in the Italian culture, traditions and costumes.
The main aims of the Society are directed to promote and divulgate the best sides of Italy towards all the students of the University, as well as creating a small community of young Italians sharing the vibrant experience of living and studying in a different country.
Thanks to the great enthusiasm built around this Society, we are able to offer many events during the entire Academic Year. We organise aperitivos during which both Italians and non Italians can chat and enjoy some quality food and drinks, movie nights where we show Italian movies with English subtitles so that everyone can understand, and nights out of various sorts (we often end up going to international parties!). We are also planning a Pizza Masterclass where real Italian pizzaiolos will teach us their art, and maybe an Aperol Spritz masterclass.
On a more academic side, we run weekly Italian lessons for both beginners and more advanced learners; this is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in learning more about our language and our culture, in a friendly and informal environment.
