Description

The Platypus society organises film screenings, reading groups, public fora, research and journalism focused on problems and tasks inherited from the old(1920s-30s), new (1960s-70s) and post-political (1980s-90s) Left, for the possibilities of emancipatory politics today.

At University of Manchester, we currently hold a weekly reading group on the history of the left and group trips to radical/Marxist/socialist/anarchist events. We also distribute the Platypus Review journal, and hope to host public panel events in the future.
