The Manchester Teaching Awards are a fantastic way for you as students to recognize teachers who have gone the extra mile to enhance your learning. These awards are designed to give you a say over your education by highlighting the student-perspective on good teaching practice.
We invite staff and students to celebrate the results at the awards Ceremony in the first week of May (TBC).
Nominations open on Monday 6 of February and close on Friday March 31
What are the nomination categories?
This year we have devised 7 categories of Teaching Award which aim to reflect students learning priorities. For more information on these different categories and the criteria for each one click HERE.
How does the nomination process work?
In order to nominate someone, you need to fill in a short form explaining how your nominee fulfils the criteria for a given category and is thus deserving of the award. We’ll analyse the data through both qualitative and quantitative methods, therefore it’s important you encourage your course mates to submit nominations too and pay special attention to the criteria for each category in your submission forms!
How are the Awards judged?
Once you’ve nominated someone, we use a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis to create a nominee longlist (last year we had over 400 submissions!). This longlist is then made into a shortlist by the student judgement panel who decide upon winners for each category.
