Register Your Fundraiser

The Volunteer & Fundraising Team are here to support you with your fundraising activities.  Below is a menu of forms to help plan:

Fundraising Forms

Any registered student can hire a charity fundraising bucket on the condition that the relevant forms are completed below.

If you want to hire a fundraising bucket, complete this form and your Student Activities team will prepare it ready for your requested collection date.  This can be completed in advance or at the Student Activities office.  Please note, it is compulsory for all cash fundraising activities to complete the fundraising bucket form below.

Hire a fundraising bucket - compulsory for all cash fundraising activities.  Please note that you will need to read and agree to Terms and Conditions found in the form regarding ethical fundraising.

Fundraising Events Form - Taking place in any location off or on campus excluding Students Union Academy Venues.  This form helps you to organise charity fundraising events such as Jailbreak, Lost, Bogle, CRUKSoccer etc.

Registering your project

Registration for existing projects has now closed, but will re-open in August 2019. However, if you’ve got an idea for a project, see below for more info and how to set one up!

Getting a dbs check

We can only provide DBS checks for students volunteering with registered Student Action, Access All Area and some society volunteer projects that work with children or vulnerable adults.


Online Training Hub

The training hub has a range of short online modules that you can use to learn and practice new skills before starting a new project or event. We have modules covering event management, budgeting and how to use the volunteer hub.

Face to Face Training

Any upcoming training sessions held by the Students’ Union will be posted here.

Manchester Community Central offer many training sessions and workshops. Their offering is updated regularly.

Using the volunteer hub

The Volunteer Hub is a tool developed by the University and the Union to make it easy for students to search and apply for volunteering roles as well as recording their volunteer hours.

If you have started volunteering, but have not yet signed up officially using the volunteer hub, let your project leader know, or email for support on how to sign up and log your hours!

Booking a room

Registered volunteer projects/ groups/ societies can book our rooms and venues in the Students’ Union and the University. Facilities available in the Students Union include: meeting rooms with projectors, theatre, venues and dance studios. Note to book a room in the University you will need to give at least 3 weeks notice. Book a room by emailing: with the event description, time, date and capacity required or visiting the Student Activities office (first floor of the SU).

The Students’ Union Ground floor seating area, Union Bar and First Floor Social Space are great places to hold meetings and meet-ups!

Finances and reimbursement

Claiming back money: complete this form and email to your groups coordinator, or bring to the Activities office (first floor of the Students’ Union.)

Reporting a safeguarding concern

It is important to report any concerns you have for the safety and well-being of children, vulnerable adults or fellow volunteers. You can do this by completing the form below and emailing it to Once sending this form check it has been received by calling: 0161 275 8663

Wrapping up your project/ event

As you come towards the end of the year its important you leave a good handover for students who may want to continue your project/ event/ society in the future. Why not use the templates below and email them to the new leaders?
