Whitworth Park and Denmark Road are centrally located near to the University of Manchester campus and University of Manchester Students Union.
For Welcome Week 2017, Whitworth Park and Denmark Road Residents Association has teamed up with The University of Manchester Students’ Union to put on a range of events that aim to cater for every student’s needs. These events will allow new residents to explore and connect with Manchester and make the most out of their first week living in halls of residence.
Whitworth Park and Denmark Road Residents Association is led by an elected committee of students who are residents in Whitworth Park or Denmark Road. This elected committee helps to build a sense of community across both halls makes sure that everyone living in their hall has a great time. This year’s Residents Association have organised events, activities, sports, trips and parties in Whitworth Park and Denmark Road including: free pizza nights, a celebratory Chinese New Year party, excursions to Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach an Easter Egg hunt around the halls and an open air cinema.
Whitworth Park and Denmark Road Residents Association has a very strong committee that have supported one another throughout the year. This was recognised at the University of Manchester Students Union Awards 2017, in which three members of the committee were nominated for ‘Halls Committee Member of the year’, in addition to this they were also nominated for ‘Hall event of the year’ for their LipSync Battle.
